If I become Primeminister
Powered by Froala Editor
The Prime Minister of Bangladesh is the head of the government having the supreme executive power. Naturally, much of the country’s welfare and development depends on the wish of Prime Minister. Human life is full of dreams. Most of the time, it travels in the dreamland. But all the dreams do not come true. If I were the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, I would do many things for the development of my country. I would make the country as self-reliant. I would unite and inspire the whole nation. Then I would make a realistic plan and ensure good governance and better management.
I would do things on a priority basis. Our country is an undeveloped country. It is surrounded by poverty, terrorism, and nepotism, etc. First of all, I would try keeping the prices of essential commodities under control. Then I would ensure the rule of justice. I would instruct the police department to work independently to bring the criminals to justice. I would offer a terrorism and nepotism free society for the people of Bangladesh. I would strictly follow the principle of “reward for the good and punishment for the bad”. Restoration of law and order would be my topmost priority. The freedom of press and independence of the judiciary would be guaranteed at any cost.
Another priority of mine would be to ensure a democratic atmosphere everywhere. I would ensure a democratic, transparent, accountable and responsible government for the real welfare of people. I would curb terrorism with an iron hand. The election commission, public service commission, and anti-corruption would be given full autonomy. I would never treat any case with petty political and partisan angle. I would create such an environment so that freedom of expression is ensured. Education is the precondition of development. If I were the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, I would make the education compulsory for all. I would also make education free for both boys and girls up-to-the higher secondary level.

Grameen Bank is an institution that has earned much fame for its in the welfare of poor and helpless people or poverty reduction in Bangladesh. It is credited with the development and proper implementation of a system called Micro Credit. That system has been found much effective in the social empowerment of the helpless people. Grameen Bank was established by Professor Mohammod Younus in1983. During his work as a professor of the Department of Economics at the University of Chittagong, it occurred to him that the economics condition of the poor and helpless people could be improved if they are given an only small amount of loans. As a test run, he provided loans to some poor women of the village Jobra. He gained confidence when the borrowers were able to return the money with profit. They had invested the money in making cane and wicker chairs and earn profit by selling them. Being confident by his success in the village Jobra, he quit his job in the University of Chittagong, came to Dhaka and set up the Grameen Bank on 1st October 1983, at the village Jobra, he extended a total of $27 to 42 woman.
Now the total distribution of loan of Grameen Bank has stood at 29000 crore taka. The rate of loan recovery is about 98.85%. There are about 2226 branches of Grameen Bank in the whole country and the bank has already provided loan to abou66 lakh borrowers in 71,371 rural communities. About 18,795 people work at Grameen Bank at present.

Flyover
Powered by Froala Editor
Flyover is a road or railway that is built over another. It allows both routes to cross smoothly. It is a modern engineering invention which is considered a solution to traffic jam. Usually, in the big, the number of vehicles is increasing every day. As a result, there occurs a huge traffic Jam as these existing roads cannot provide adequate space for all the vehicles. It is not possible to find out new Place to build new roads, either. For this reason, experts have thought about the construction of flyovers which may maintain smooth communication. In Dhaka city, we have some flyovers. We have Khilgaon flyover, Jatrabari flyover, Kuril flyover, Moghbazar flyover, etc. These flyovers have reduced our traffic jam significantly in some areas. But still, we need more flyovers in Dhaka city. Dhaka is a populous city. Traffic jam prevails everywhere and it disrupts our normal life. Our development work is largely hampered owing to traffic jam. To reduce it more flyovers are badly needed. We no more expect a city where people spend most of the time and in vehicles stuck up in traffic jams. We want to see a city where people can reach their destinations at the expected time. Flyovers also reduce the scope for a mass transit system and a bus rapid transit that would have a much bigger impact on the severe traffic dilemma. In the era of globalization and technological advancement, we cannot lag behind. Like other different countries of the world, we need more and more flyovers in order to have easy and Jam-free communication.

Global Warming

It is the continuous rise in warming of the earth’s surface due to the increased level of carbon dioxide gas in the environment. Global Warming has become a big issue which need to solved that needs positive initiation by countries all over the world. With a gradual increase, the earth’s temperature calls various threats as well as makes the and makes life’s existence. It enhances the gradual and permanent changes in the earth’s climate and thus affecting nature’s balance.
As the Earth gets hotter, it causes many problems and upsets how nature works. This heat change makes long-term differences in our weather, affecting nature. The rise in carbon dioxide (CO2) has big impacts too.
Rise in the CO2 level, the earth impacts the human life to a g level through continued heat waves, sudden occurrence of a strong storms, unpredictable and unexpected cyclone, damage to ozone layer, floods, the heavy rain, drought, lack, and food, diseases, death etc. It has researched that increasing emissions of CO2 in the atmosphere is because of the nonstop burning of constantans, usage of fertilizers, cutting forests, extra use of electricity, gases used in refrigerator etc. According to the e statistics, it has noted that by 2020 global Warming may boom its bad effects if it is not taken under control as CO2 emissions are increasing continuously.
The increasing level of CO2 causes greenhouse effect on the earth in which all the greenhouse gases (water vapour, CO2, methane, ozone) absorbs thermal radiation, which in turn re-radiated to all directions and come back to earth surface causing increase in the temperature of earth surface and also lead to global Warming.
In order to stop the life threatening effects of the global Warming, we should take a permanent break from all the bad habits causing increase in the CO2 level and other green house gases leading to the green house effect and then earth surface warming. We should stop deforestation, lessen the use of electricity, stop the burning of wood, etc.

Dishonest man in society
Powered by Froala Editor
In the intricate tapestry of society, the dishonest man lurks like a shadow, weaving webs of deceit and manipulation that threaten the fabric of trust and integrity. Despite the veneer of charm or charisma that may cloak his actions, the dishonest man ultimately undermines the foundations upon which social harmony is built, leaving behind a trail of broken promises and shattered relationships.
At the heart of the dishonest man's modus operandi lies a fundamental lack of integrity and moral compass. Driven by selfish desires or misguided ambitions, he employs deception as a means to achieve his ends, often at the expense of others. Whether it's through lies, manipulation, or betrayal, he seeks to gain advantage or evade accountability, heedless of the consequences his actions may have on those around him.
The dishonest man is a master of disguise, adept at concealing his true intentions behind a facade of false sincerity or charm. He may present himself as a trustworthy friend or ally, only to reveal his true colors when it suits his purposes. His words are honeyed, his promises empty, as he spins elaborate tales to manipulate and exploit the trust of others for his own gain.
Yet, for all his cunning and deceit, the dishonest man is ultimately a prisoner of his own making. His web of lies may ensnare others momentarily, but in the end, truth has a way of surfacing, exposing his deception for what it is. And while he may succeed in achieving short-term gains through his dishonesty, the long-term consequences of his actions often prove far more damaging, eroding trust, sowing discord, and tarnishing his reputation irreparably.
Moreover, the presence of dishonest individuals in society erodes the very foundations of trust and cooperation upon which communities rely. When deceit becomes the norm rather than the exception, social bonds fray, and cynicism takes root, breeding a culture of suspicion and paranoia that undermines the collective well-being of all. In such a society, genuine connections are rare, and the pursuit of self-interest reigns supreme, leaving little room for empathy, compassion, or genuine human connection.
In conclusion, the presence of dishonest individuals in society poses a significant threat to the values of integrity, trust, and cooperation upon which social harmony depends. Whether through lies, manipulation, or betrayal, the dishonest man undermines the foundations of trust and integrity, leaving behind a trail of broken relationships and shattered trust. It is only through a collective commitment to honesty, transparency, and accountability that we can hope to counteract the corrosive influence of dishonesty and cultivate a society built on principles of trust, integrity, and mutual respect.

Gender Discrimination
Powered by Froala Editor
Gender discrimination refers to the unequal treatment of individuals based on their gender. This can manifest in a variety of ways, including in the workplace, in education, and in society more broadly.
In the workplace, women may be paid less than men for doing the same job, may be passed over for promotions, and may face harassment or discrimination from their colleagues or supervisors. This can lead to a lack of representation of women in leadership positions and a lack of economic security for women.
In education, girls may face discrimination in the form of lack of access to education, or may be encouraged to pursue certain subjects or careers that are traditionally seen as "female" rather than given the opportunity to pursue their own interests. This can limit their future opportunities and earnings potential.
Discrimination also happens in society, sometimes it's subtle, and sometimes it's overt. Women may be expected to conform to certain societal norms and stereotypes, such as being caretakers and homemakers, rather than being encouraged to pursue their own goals and aspirations. This can limit their ability to fully participate in society and contribute to a culture that values men over women.
Gender discrimination is a serious issue that affects individuals, families, and society as a whole. It is important for all of us to be aware of the ways in which discrimination can manifest and to actively work to dismantle discrimination in all its forms. This can include educating ourselves and others, supporting women-led initiatives, and advocating for policy changes that promote equality for all.

Gardening is a fun and rewarding activity that allows us to interact with nature while also beautifying our surroundings. It involves growing and taking care of plants, which can range from flowers and shrubs to fruits and vegetables. This activity not only adds color and life to our homes but also has several benefits. Gardening can help us relax and reduce stress, as it requires our focus and takes our minds off everyday worries. It’s like a workout too, as it involves physical tasks like digging, planting, weeding, and watering. Moreover, if we grow fruits and vegetables, it provides fresh and healthy food that is good for our bodies. It’s always exciting to watch plants grow from seeds and blossom into beautiful flowers or bear tasty fruits. Gardening also teaches us patience, as plants take time to grow and bloom. We learn the importance of caring for other living things and how every plant needs different care. For instance, some plants need lots of sunlight, while others thrive in the shade. Some need plenty of water, while others do better in dry soil. By gardening, we also learn about the different seasons, as some plants grow best in certain times of the year. In conclusion, gardening is a wonderful hobby that benefits us in many ways, making our lives healthier, happier, and more colorful.

A beautiful woman is not just about the physical appearance that catches the eye. Her beauty is a blend of her inner qualities, values, and actions, more than what is just seen on the surface. She carries a radiant smile that can light up the gloomiest day, and her eyes hold a depth of kindness and compassion that makes people around her feel valued. Her strength is admirable, not just the physical kind, but the strength of character, which she shows in difficult times. She is intelligent, always eager to learn new things, and not afraid to share her knowledge with others. Her beauty shines when she shows respect to everyone, regardless of their age or status. She is confident, yet humble; she knows her worth but never shows off. She is a good listener and a trusted friend, always ready to lend a helping hand. A beautiful woman is also brave. She stands up for what she believes in, even if it means standing alone. She is patient and understanding, giving others the chance to grow and learn. Her beauty is reflected in her love for nature and all living things. Above all, a beautiful woman is one who loves herself, embraces her flaws, and uses them to become a better person. She is a source of inspiration, a beacon of hope, and a symbol of love. A truly beautiful woman is beautiful inside and out.

A sunny morning
Powered by Froala Editor
As the first rays of sunlight gently caress the earth, a sense of warmth and vitality fills the air, heralding the arrival of a new day. On a sunny morning, nature awakens with a renewed energy, casting its golden glow upon the world and inviting all who behold it to embrace the beauty and promise of the day ahead.
The warmth of the sun's rays is more than just a physical sensation; it is a metaphorical embrace, a reminder of the endless possibilities that lie before us. In the soft light of dawn, the world seems to come alive, bathed in hues of gold and amber that infuse even the simplest of scenes with a sense of magic and wonder.
On a sunny morning, the air is crisp and invigorating, filled with the scent of dew-kissed grass and blooming flowers. Birds greet the day with joyful melodies, their songs mingling with the gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze. It is a symphony of nature's creation, a harmonious blend of sound and scent that envelops the senses and stirs the soul.
As I step outside into the embrace of the morning sun, I am filled with a sense of gratitude and awe for the beauty that surrounds me. The world seems to hum with life and possibility, each moment brimming with the potential for discovery and adventure. In the soft glow of dawn, even the most mundane tasks take on a sense of purpose and meaning, as I am reminded of the precious gift of each new day.
But perhaps the true magic of a sunny morning lies in its ability to inspire hope and renewal in the human spirit. In the warmth of the sun's embrace, worries and cares seem to melt away, replaced by a sense of optimism and possibility. It is a reminder that no matter what challenges lie ahead, each new day offers the opportunity for growth, transformation, and renewal.
A sunny morning is more than just a break in the clouds; it is a celebration of life, beauty, and the endless possibilities that lie before us. As the sun rises to greet the day, it illuminates the world with its golden light, filling our hearts with warmth and our souls with hope. And as we embrace the beauty of the morning sun, may we be reminded of the boundless potential that lies within each of us, waiting to be awakened and embraced anew with each passing day.

Freedom of Press and Media
Powered by Froala Editor
A democracy is a system wherein power is supposed to lie in the hands of the people. They may choose to exercise this power directly or to elect representatives from amongst their numbers. These representatives then form a governing body such as a parliament.
In order for a democracy to work, it needs to have four solid aspects – free and fair elections, protection of the people’s human rights, the participation of citizens and the rule of law applied equally to everyone. However, without the freedom of the press, all of this is moot.
Freedom of Press in Democracy
There can be no denying the fact that a democracy will only survive if there is freedom of the press or media. Since a democracy depends upon its citizens, these citizens must be well-informed so that they can make political decisions and elect their representatives appropriately. However, it is impossible or creates difficulty for every citizen to go searching for such information themselves.
This is where the press comes in. It falls upon the news media to collect, verify and disseminate the information that can help people make the decisions that allow a democracy to work. As such, the press becomes a powerful tool for the efficient functioning of a democratic government. By reporting verified facts, the press not only allows people to be knowledgeable about what is going on but also acts as a check on the government.
It becomes obvious, then, that the press must be free to do its job. It should not have to face censorship that hides crucial information from the public. The right to freedom of speech and expression also includes the right of the press to the same freedom. If members of the press are intimidated and harassed or are discredited without reason, the people lose the only tool they have to participate effectively in the running of their country.
Conclusion
Without freedom of the press, no government can be considered ‘of the people, by the people and for the people’. Unfortunately, the past few years have seen increasing curbs, direct or indirect, on the media and its ability to report. These curbs have come in the form of harassment, threats and intimidation and are having increasingly disastrous consequences for the dissemination of unbiased information. Unless this trend is reversed, we may see some of the most powerful democracies in the world collapsing soon.

Family bondigs

There are many things to be learned in life, such as values, manners, cultural traditions, so on and so forth. Personally from my experiences, I’ve learned so many that I can’t even recall. One of the ones that I do value and that I can honestly say that I believe in the most is the importance of spending time with my family.
In my immediate family, I am the second child out of four girls. Yes, a lot of people do ask my dad how he manages to live with five girls, the fifth being my mom. As a kid, my family and I would go on many what I like to call, “field trips.” These trips would mostly be to simple everyday places, such as the zoo, museums, the beach, places of that sort. A couple of times we went to places out of state, for example, SeaWorld in Ohio and Wisconsin Dells. All these mini vacations used to be so much fun when I was younger, but later as my sisters and I got older, these trips slowly happened less and less, eventually stopping altogether.
The last vacation I went on with my family was to India in the summer of 2006. Trips to India usually meant going to see my grandparents, but this time I actually went sight seeing too. One of the places I went to was to a city named Mysore. This city is famous for all its ancient palaces and statues, so my dad decided that we should go tour some of them. One of the statues he wanted to visit was this enormous one in the shape of a bull. Now getting to this big bull required walking down about a hundred billion stone steps. After a while, one by one, my sisters and I started complaining, me being the one who complained the most. I kept mentioning how stupid and lame it was to be walking down all those steps just to see a dumb statue. My dad kept telling me that it would be worth it once we got there, but I didn’t care. I just wanted to go back to the hotel. Time went by with my never ending nagging, so my dad just gave up and said we can turn around and leave, so we did. The expression on his face is one that I’ll never forget. It was so full of disappointment and sadness, just having realized that all his girls are grown and aren’t interested in what he finds “cool” anymore. My heart broke a little after seeing it, but my desire to go back was so great that I didn’t say anything. After that day, he never brought up going on another “fieldtrip” again. I felt so bad that I came to a resolution that the next time I visited India with him; I would bring him to Mysore and walk down all those stairs with him so he could see that statue.
Two weeks ago, my dad had to get surgery on both of his legs for excessive vein clots. Over ten veins were pulled out in each leg, leaving both not as strong as they used to be. Climbing down all those steps is now physically impossible for him, so my resolution of taking him back to Mysore is no longer achievable. Not walking that extra bit for my dad is something I’ll always repent because really, how bad would it have been? It certainly wouldn’t have killed me. It would have resulted in his happiness, something that would always be worth the sacrifice.
After that day, I realized how nice it was to have been able to have done stuff together with my family, even if sometimes it was lame or dumb. All of us are very busy now, my parents constantly working trying to make ends meet and my older sister off at college. Most of the time, just me and my two younger sisters are at home doing homework. Those times when my older sister comes down for break and when my parents get time, we all go out to a restaurant or to the movies, small places like that. These outings are nothing like our “fieldtrips,” but they’re still something that mean a lot to me. Being with my family makes me happier than I usually am and it’s something that I’ll always cherish, love, and believe in.
“Friends, come and go. But family? They’re forever.”

A winter morning
Powered by Froala Editor
There are six seasons in Bangladesh. Winter is one of the coldest seasons among those six. It’s a foggy morning and different from any other season of the year. There is dew here and there. Also, the surrounding becomes misty and dim. The trees, leaves, tin shades, crops and different environmental objects are fully coated with dew. In the morning the fog becomes so heavy that nothing can be seen within a few distances. But when the sun rises, it becomes a beautiful cozy morning. This season is famous for Pitha-puli, cakes, pies, trendy warm clothes, fresh vegetables etc. There are some benefits of this season. People can work out more than in the summer season. So, they become more fit and able to burn fat fast, allergic patients’ pain reduces, metabolic rate increases, and inflammation decreases. In this season we see two different scenarios both in cities and villages. In rural areas people make a fire to protect themselves from the extremely foggy morning. They mostly have pithas in their breakfast. There is a crowd in front of the kiln to warm them up. They are not privileged with trendy suiters or warm clothes which bring havoc for them. In cities people are busy and it becomes crowded in the morning. They mostly have roadside pithas from Pitha sellers. Also, they are privileged with warm clothes, suiters, jackets, socks, mufflers etc. But in cities, the needy poor people suffer a lot. They don’t have warm clothes, blankets or anything to put on. A lot of NGOs take care of those needy poor people. When the sun can’t be seen their havoc becomes much more. In this period of time, people can’t go outside early in the morning, get up late, or feel lazy. Except for those sceneries and havoc, winter is one of the most beautiful seasons among the six.

Foreign Aid
Foreign aid refers to the international movement of money, services, or goods from governments or international institutions for the benefit of the receiving country or its citizens. Foreign aid can be fiscal, military, or humanitarian and is considered one of the significant sources of foreign exchange.
Foreign aid is the voluntary movement of money or other resources from one nation to another. The transactions are mostly from developed countries to developing countries. A developing nation typically lacks a strong manufacturing base and is distinguished by a low value of the Human Development Index (HDI). Foreign aid may be offered as a contribution or a loan, which can either be a hard or soft loan. If the loan is in a foreign currency, it is termed as a hard loan.
Summary
Foreign aid is the voluntary movement of resources from one country to another.
Foreign aid may require the transfer of professional advice and training, commodities, or financial resources.
The assistance can be used to advance the political aims of government, allowing it to obtain diplomatic recognition.
Purpose of Foreign Aid
Foreign aid may require the transfer of professional advice and training, or commodities or financial resources. Financial resources can occur in the form of concessional loans or grants, such as export credits. Official Development Assistance (ODA) is the most common form of foreign aid, which is the help provided to support development and to fight poverty. The main source of ODA is the bilateral grants from one country to another, while some of the funding is in the form of loans, and often it is channeled by non-governmental organizations and foreign organizations.
Countries also offer foreign aid in order to improve their own security. Economic aid may also be used to discourage friendly countries from coming under the control of unfriendly governments or paying for the right to set up or use military bases on foreign soil.
Foreign aid can be used to accomplish the political aims of a government, allowing it to obtain diplomatic recognition, to gain respect for its role in international institutions, or to improve the accessibility of its diplomats to foreign countries.
Foreign aid also seeks to promote the exports of a country and spread its literature, culture, or religion. Countries often provide aid to relieve the distress caused by man-made or natural disasters like drought, illness, and conflict. It helps to promote sustainable prosperity, create or reinforce political institutions, and address a range of worldwide concerns, including cancer, terrorism, and other violations, and environmental degradation.
Types of Foreign Aid
1. Tied Aid
Tied aid is a type of foreign aid that must be invested in a country that is providing support or in a group of chosen countries. A developed country can offer a bilateral loan or grant to a developing nation but will be required by the government to invest the money on goods and services produced in that country.
2. Bilateral Aid
Bilateral aid is given directly by one country’s government to that of another country’s government. It occurs when money flows from a country with a developed economy to a country with a developing economy. Bilateral aid is directed by strategic, political, and humanitarian interests. This is meant to further foster democracy, economic growth, peace, and sustainability of long-term programs.
3. Multilateral Aid
Multilateral aid is the support offered by several countries that share funds to foreign organizations such as the United Nations, the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The funds are used to relieve hunger in developing nations. While the sector represents a minority of financial aid of the U.S., the donations provided by the country make up a large proportion of the donor funds obtained by the organizations.
4. Military Aid
Military aid typically allows the recipient country either to procure weapons or security contracts directly from the U.S. In other situations, it actually simplifies the mechanism by enabling the federal government to buy weapons on its own and ship them to military transport.
5. Project Aid
The assistance is known to be project aid when the funds are used to support a certain project, such as a hospital or school.

Your favourite game

Cricket is my favourite sport. Cricket is a sport that is widely played across the globe and it is played by everyone irrespective of their caste, creed or colour. It is also called the Gentleman’s Game as it was played by British officers back in the 16th century.
I play cricket every day in the evening with my neighbourhood friends. Although we don’t obey the rules of cricket, it is a great source of physical exercise and entertainment. We play in a team of 5 versus 5 whereas in this game of cricket each team has 11 members.
Before the game starts we toss a coin and whoever gets the head wins to choose between batting and bowling. This is an outdoor game, it is played with a bat, and ball along with the stumps. It is one of the most famous games of India. My favourite cricketer is Virat Kohli.
In the game of cricket, each team competes with the other and the team with the highest scores wins the game. There’s an umpire who observes the game and ensures that rules are being followed. Players have to listen to the umpire and the judgement of the umpire is the final decision.
Cricket is a popular game and it has got its diversity because it is played by almost everyone. People also make careers in the field of cricket as the cricketers earn huge amounts of money by just playing. That’s the reason why cricket is my favourite game. Everyone should play one or another sport to stay healthy and fit.

Foot overbridge
Powered by Froala Editor
Road accident is a common phenomenon in the Dhaka city. A large number of people die every year while they try to cross the road ignoring the traffic rules. They cross the road in front of moving vehicles and consequently fall victims of fatal accidents. The government and pedestrians both should think that lives are most valuable and nothing should be compared with it. To save lives we need to be social; we need to follow the traffic rules because life will not come for the second time.
The authorities should take the necessary steps to prevent these road accidents. Traffic police and the citizen should be more aware of the problem. Rules and regulations should be followed more strictly. When there is a VIP on the road, the traffic police are very conscious. However, they should be conscious all the time, and make sure no one can jaywalk through the busy roads. People who break the rules should be punished, possibly via fines. The foot over-bridges should be cleared of all vendors. The authorities needs to improve the over-bridges to encourage people to use them. The first and most important step is to ensure people are using them. The media should highlight the importance of their use by pointing out the many accidents that are occurring due to jaywalking. The roads in our city should have signs for pedestrians not to jaywalk. Overall, this should be practised by all classes of people. Otherwise, the foot over-bridges will remain unused and accidents will continue. It is now time to make your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours conscious about the negative effects of jaywalking. Textbooks can be a useful tool in educating people about their use. Print and electronic media can play a vigorous role to educate the masses about the necessity of using footbridge, and avoid jaywalking.

Food adulteration
Powered by Froala Editor
Food is one of the basic needs of human life. By taking foods we get heat and energy. It helps to survive on the earth. But our food is being adulterated. Food adulteration means the process of making food by mixing another substance or chemical which makes the food less pure and harmful for the human body. Chemicals are mixed with food to make the food attractive. Food loses its purity and standard in this way. By taking these foods, we become ill. It destroys the disease preventive power of the human body.
Every man is the victim of food adulteration. But children are the worst victims of it. Recently we find melamin a poisonous chemical in milk powder. The dishonest businessmen are solely responsible for adulteration. Recently the government set up mobile courts to punish them. The government should take more necessary steps to stop food adulteration.

Yellow Journalism
Powered by Froala Editor
Yellow journalism, or "yellow press", refers to an unethical, irresponsible brand of journalism given to hoaxes, altered photographs, screaming headlines, "scoops", frauds, and endless promotions of the newspapers themselves. This term was first used in the 1890's to describe the competition between two rival New York City newspapers, the World, and the Journal.
In 1883, Joseph Pulitzer purchased the New York-based newspaper, the World. With its vivid, sensational reporting and excellent crusades against political corruption and social injustice, Pulitzer made the World, the largest newspaper circulation in the country. One of his most famous staff writers was Nellie Bly (Elizabeth Cockrane).
Bly was best known for her "stunt" stories. An example of one of her "stunts" was when she pretended to be insane and committed herself to the New York Blackwell Island Asylum. When she was released after ten days, she wrote a story exposing the asylum's poor conditions. The story sparked reform from all around the country! Her most famous story, however, included her trip around the world. During that time period, Jules Verne wrote "Around the World in Eighty Days"; Bly was inspired to do it in less time. Her mission was accomplished in 72 days! She captured readers' attentions by writing daily about her adventures. In 1895, however, William Randolph Hearst, the son of a California mining tycoon, challenged Pulitzer's superiority, when he bought the Journal. Previous to his relocation to New York, Hearst owned the widely popular newspaper, Examiner, back in San Francisco. Hoping to duplicate the Examiner's success with the Journal, Hearst intended to surpass his competitors in sensationalism, crusades, and Sunday features. One of the Journal's more notable headlines, published in 1898, was when they provoked a quarrel between the U.S. and Spain.

Women empowerment
Powered by Froala Editor
Women empowerment is a widely discussed term in today’s society and talks about the upliftment of the female gender. First, it is a long term and revolutionary protest against discrimination based on sex and gender. Women empowerment refers to educating women and helping them build an identity of their own.
In our patriarchal society, women are expected to mould themselves according to the wishes of the man who “feed them.” They are not allowed to have an individual opinion or an independent identity. Empowering women involves encouraging them to be financially, culturally, and socially independent. A woman must be entitled to pursue what she loves and develop into a fully functioning human. Her individuality must be nurtured and acknowledged. Women empowerment has lead millions of women across the globe to pursue their dreams. They are steadily moving forward in life with strong determination, respect, and faith. However, we must realize that despite the efforts being made to uplift women, most of them still suffer under patriarchy and suppression. Domestic violence is extremely common in countries like India. The society has always tried to curb the freedom of a woman because it is afraid of a woman who is strong and independent. We must recognize the ingrained misogyny in our society and work towards removing it. for example, we must teach both girls and boys to respect each other. Women fall victim to atrocities because men feel that they have the birthright to assert their power and authority over women. This can only be resolved by teaching boys from the very beginning that they are in no way superior to girls, and they have no right to touch a woman without her consent. The future is not a female. The future is equal and beautiful.

First day at college
Powered by Froala Editor
My first day at college has become an ever-memorable day in my life. When I was in school, I longed for this day. At last, it came. I passed the SSC Examination with credit in 2012 and got myself admitted into Karnaphuli College. My memorable day was July 20, 2012. I put on new clothes and started for college at 9 a.m. with my parents’ blessings. I reached my College campus on foot. It took some twenty minutes to reach there. No sooner had My feet touched the ground. I found myself in a new world. I saw some students in front of a board. I went there and found our class routine. It was at 10 a.m. According to routine, I entered the room numbered two. I sat down on the second bench of the middle row.
After a few moments, a smart gentleman entered. He was our English professor Mr Kamal. We all stood up and honoured him. He advised us to be punctual and regular in class, to be obedient to teachers, to be sympathetic and to be friendly with our classmates, etc. The bell duly rang. The teacher left the class. The second period was off-period. I went to the student’s common room. The bell rang. I entered the classroom. It was our accounting class. The class is over, I left the college. I returned home with a joyous mind. Really, I cannot forget this special day of my life.

Winter season
Powered by Froala Editor
Winter season is like a grand show that nature puts on, turning everything quiet and white with snow. It starts when the leaves fall from the trees, and the air gets cold enough for you to see your breath. In many places, snowflakes come down from the sky, dressing the land in a thick, fluffy blanket. This snow changes the way everything looks, from the tallest trees to the smallest houses. Days are short and nights are long, with the sun often hiding behind clouds, making it seem like the world is taking a slow, deep breath before the busy spring. People wear jackets, hats, gloves, and boots to keep warm when they go outside. Children get excited about making snowmen, having snowball fights, and sledding down hills. Even the sounds are different in winter; they are muffled and quiet, except for the crunch of snow under your feet. Animals behave differently too. Some, like bears, sleep through much of the winter, while others, such as birds, fly far away to warmer places. Families come together, sharing warm drinks and meals, telling stories, and enjoying holidays that bring lights and cheer to the darker days. While winter can be tough because of the cold and sometimes slippery roads, it’s also a time for rest and fun. It’s a season that wraps up the year and prepares us for the new growth and warmth that comes with spring.

Discipline
Powered by Froala Editor
Discipline is an attribute that involves a definite set of rules, parameters and behavioral patterns. When combined and applied together, these help to maintain the social and personal order of events in life.
Discipline can start developing from a very young age right at home. This in turn spreads and develops to affect different areas of life. Maintaining a proper sleep schedule, a healthy diet, exercise, pursuing a passion or a hobby, practicing a sport regularly all come under personal discipline. Social discipline includes behaving in a particular manner in gatherings, meetings or events. Whereas professional discipline mostly involves time management, meeting deadlines, greeting seniors appropriately, maintaining healthy relations and so on.
Discipline is an inherent part of society and the very beginning of its role starts in our educational institutes. But nowadays people often lose track of time and have to make significant efforts to maintain a disciplined lifestyle. Some ways to maintain discipline in school, workplaces or even at homes include:
Being aware of the guidelines and rules of an institute
Being considerate and understanding with co-workers
Maintaining strictness but being fair
Setting clear consequences and punishments
Devising family or personal rules
Keeping up with a planned schedule
The above measures can be the guiding principles to lead a disciplined life devoid of commotion and regrets. We must always remember that with the right quality of discipline all our ventures are certain to succeed!

When I feel uncomfortable
Powered by Froala Editor
I believe in being uncomfortable.
Being uncomfortable means that you have escaped the cushy everyday life that modern times have afforded those who want it. It means doing something out of the ordinary. It means not knowing a soul when you first get to college. It means travelling halfway across the world with 25 strangers. It means poison ivy all over your aching legs from a 14-mile hike. It means always looking back and feeling like you are a different person than you were before your experience, whatever it may be.
This philosophy sprung from a belief in not saying “no” to anything when I was in college. This of course stopped at illegal activities (mostly), but extended to the rest of my life. Join a fraternity? Yep. Impromptu road trip to Charleston, SC? Absolutely. Hike part of the Appalachian Trail? For sure. Learn to sail? Blind date? Party on a Tuesday morning? Yes, yes, yes. What this eventually led me to was the realization that each time I tried something new and out of my comfort zone, whether I liked it or not, I grew as a person. I was more confident, met new people, had a great memory, or just had another skill that might be useful one day. Even when I got bad poison ivy all over from a hike, at least I had been outside doing something rather than wasting time on the Internet.
One of the biggest commitments I made to being outside my comfort zone was my trip to Australia to study for a summer. I went with 25 people I had never met before we met at various airports or actually in Sydney. Over two months these people became some of my best friends. People I still keep in touch with despite not having seen them in years. I learned a lot about them and the country I was in, but despite how cliché it sounds, I learned more about myself. I became more confident and more open to others as well. I still look back at that experience as one of the defining moments of my life.
I won’t say that this belief has made me a great people person, or immune to awkwardness around new people, or made me an expert camper, hiker, or anything else. I just started at a new school and 120 new people scared the crap out of me. But I do know that I am a better person today than I would have been had I never gone out of my comfort zone, and that’s a good enough reason for me to continue being uncomfortable.

Imagine a world where flowers are like a big, colorful team, each with its own special powers. I'm not just a pretty face; I'm a tiny wizard spreading happiness with my petal magic!
So, my petals are like my superhero cape. They protect me from the rain and make me dance in the wind. When it's sunny, I open up like a big, happy smiley face – nature's way of saying, "Hooray!"
Now, here's the fun part – my design is like a puzzle made of shapes and colors. It's like wearing a dress with polka dots, stripes, and all the fun patterns you can imagine. I'm a walking, talking artwork, and it's a flower party every day!
And guess what? I'm a patient little superhero. I don't rush to grow up; I take my time. It's like waiting for your ice cream to freeze or your pizza to cook. Being a tiny bud is my superpower before I bloom into a full-fledged flower superhero!
Now, when you see me and my flowery friends in the garden, we're not just standing there looking pretty. We're a team, waving to bees and butterflies, like a friendly family photo where everyone is happy.
And here's the secret – when you look at a flower, you're not just looking at something nice; you're looking at a superhero who can teach you about being patient, standing strong, and making the world as colorful as a rainbow.
So, my little pals, next time you see a flower, give it a high-five and remember our superhero story – a tale of colors, patience, and making the world a garden of happiness!

Water pollution
Powered by Froala Editor
Earth comprises about 70% of water, where humans and animals consume only 1% of fresh and healthy water for drinking. Humans consume freshwater for daily activities, so we should be serious about protecting it from pollution.
Water pollution is a serious environmental problem prevailing in our society. Human-made activities like intensive agriculture, urbanization, deforestation, and industrialization have escalated water bodies’ pollution.
The disposal of industrial wastes should be meted through the dumping of biologically decomposable wastes and recycling of non-decomposable waste at an industrial and household level.
Restrictions on activities such as dumping of feces, washing dirty clothes, and bathing domestic animals is an important step towards water protection. Eutrophication is not a big issue but cannot be left unattended. Government officials should take appropriate steps and check-ups to prevent and protect water bodies from pollution.
We need to conserve and prevent water pollution. The use of methods like filtration, sedimentation, sterilization, and other scientific methods can remove the toxins and pollutants from water.
One can conserve water through small steps like turning off running tap water- this prevents water contamination and prevents water shortage. Avoid littering water bodies like rivers, oceans, and lakes. One can help clean the litter on beaches or in lakes and rivers and throw it in the nearby garbage can.
Planting more plants and trees prevents contamination of pesticides and insecticides from running off the nearby water sources. Certain fishes keep the water fresh by consuming toxic substances and plants. Thus by taking small measures, the water stays healthy and fresh, and people can use it for any purpose.

Corruption free society
Powered by Froala Editor
Creating a corruption-free society in Bangladesh, or any country, is a formidable yet essential task for sustainable development and progress. Corruption, like friction in an engine, saps the vitality of a nation's resources, hindering economic growth, eroding public trust, and perpetuating inequality.
In Bangladesh, as in many other nations, corruption manifests in various forms, from petty bribery to embezzlement of public funds. It thrives in environments where transparency and accountability are lacking, and where institutions meant to uphold the rule of law are weak or compromised.
To achieve a corruption-free society in Bangladesh, several strategies must be employed:
Strengthening Institutions: Building robust institutions with effective oversight mechanisms is crucial. This includes enhancing the independence and capacity of anti-corruption agencies, such as the Anti-Corruption Commission, and ensuring their ability to investigate and prosecute corrupt practices without fear or favor.
Promoting Transparency and Accountability: Transparency in government processes, decision-making, and public expenditure is essential for preventing corruption. Implementing measures such as open data initiatives, whistleblower protection laws, and mandatory disclosure of financial assets for public officials can help foster accountability and deter corrupt behavior.
Enhancing Legal Frameworks: Enacting and enforcing stringent anti-corruption laws is fundamental. This includes laws to prevent conflicts of interest, regulate political financing, and ensure the integrity of public procurement processes. Additionally, establishing specialized anti-corruption courts can expedite the adjudication of corruption cases and send a strong deterrent message.
Educating and Empowering Citizens: Empowering citizens with knowledge of their rights and responsibilities is vital. Civil society organizations, media outlets, and educational institutions play a crucial role in raising awareness about the detrimental effects of corruption and advocating for ethical conduct in both public and private spheres.
Fostering a Culture of Integrity: Cultivating a culture of integrity and ethical behavior requires concerted efforts across all segments of society. This involves promoting ethical leadership, encouraging ethical business practices, and instilling values of honesty, fairness, and accountability from an early age.
International Cooperation: Corruption often transcends national borders, necessitating international cooperation to combat it effectively. Bangladesh can benefit from collaborating with international organizations, neighboring countries, and global initiatives aimed at preventing corruption, sharing best practices, and recovering stolen assets.
Creating a corruption-free society is a long-term endeavor that requires sustained political will, collective action, and the engagement of all stakeholders. While the task may be daunting, the benefits of a corruption-free Bangladesh – including enhanced economic prosperity, improved public services, and strengthened democratic institutions – make it a goal worth pursuing relentlessly.

Viewing a Sunset
Powered by Froala Editor
It is really very charming to enjoy a sunset scene in a cloudless sky in Bangladesh. It marks the end of the day. The sun goes down and sheds its mild rays from the western sky. It looks like a dish of gold. We find a brilliant show of colors in the western sky. Seven colors make the western sky look charming. The whole earth and the sky seem to be painted with colors. The golden rays of the setting sun fall on the water of ponds, rivers, on top of trees. The western horizon appears exquisitely beautiful. The sky is then covered with the red glow of the setting sun and all the objects of nature put on an alarming appearance. The ripples of the rivers look purple in the red glow of the departing sun. Gradually the sun sinks down below the horizon and the red tinge of the sky begins to fade away. Darkness then covers the whole earth. The cowboys return home with their cattle. Birds are seen flying back to their nests. Nothing but a few stars are seen in the western sky. A sunset scene is really enjoyable.

Uber
Powered by Froala Editor
Uber’s innovative format of transportation services affects companies in the taxi market. Specifically, its pricing strategies and the ability to damage the reputation of taxi drivers deserve attention in this regard. This essay will examine the cause-and-effect connections between Uber’s activity in the transportation industry and its meaning for more traditional taxi companies.
Uber’s growth can have direct influences on taxi service providers’ success since the company emphasizes affordability and dynamic pricing. The investigations of the Uber platform’s policies based on dynamic price calculations reveal that Uber’s transportation fares are lower than those of taxis in most cases (Pepić 124). Uber offers a novel way of calculating prices, with price surges linked to the levels of demand for services and the supply of vehicles (Santos et al. 248). Its real-time algorithm adjusts prices to maintain the right balance between demand and supply, but price surges do not take away from Uber’s affordability (Pepić 124). These factors make Uber’s activity a threat to taxi companies.
The facts above produced various negative effects on taxi companies in different countries. By introducing its ride-booking application, Uber made its already low-cost services even more convenient, thus threatening traditional taxi companies’ competitiveness (BBC News Staff). Uber’s tremendous popularity severely affected the demand for traditional taxi services in the UK, which finds reflection in local cab firms’ protests against Uber’s operation in the transportation market of Oxford (BBC News Staff). Aside from citizens’ demand for traditional taxi services, Uber’s attractive prices and drivers’ proximity to clients also strengthened the marginalization of taxi drivers in the media (Phung et al.). Historically, taxi driving has been perceived as a stigmatized job, and Uber’s entry into the Canadian taxi market took that contempt to the next level (Phung et al.). It reinforced taxi users’ tendency to associate traditional taxi companies with illiterate immigrants and poor hygiene conditions, which could not go unnoticed for taxi operators’ profits (Phung et al.). Thus, Uber’s negative influences on taxi companies are reputational and financial in nature.
In summary, Uber’s price levels and an emphasis on convenience affected taxi companies’ position. The company’s success caused a decreased demand for competitors’ services while also reinforcing the target audience’s negative and discriminatory attitudes toward taxi drivers. Such effects resulted in trade unions’ attempts to reduce Uber’s market presence.

The worst day of your life
Powered by Froala Editor
It was August 20th 2005 on a Friday morning. I woke up and I was feeling alright. I did what I usually do on Fridays. I cooked, cleaned, took a shower, brushed my hair, and then sat in the living room to watch T.V. Next, my favorite show came on and I was happy and excited to watch the new episode. Later, the phone rang while I was watching the T.V, then I got up and then answered the phone. It was my sister in law calling, to tell us that our father had passed away about an hour ago.
I could not believe what I was hearing; I throw the phone on the floor, fell to my knees and started crying. My mother and everyone else ran towards me, asked me what was wrong and what I found out over the phone. I could not talk at all; I was out of breath from crying. But they all knew something terrible had happened. My mom picked up the phone from the floor and then talked with my sister in law, to find out the sad truth. My mom was shocked like me when she heard what I heard. When my siblings found out, we all fell apart and started to cry and hug each other. We prayed and asked god to get us through the tough time we were going through. After we prayed I went and sat in the corner with my brother and older sister. Three of us kept sitting and crying. After that my mother was trying to comfort us, but she could barely talk because she was crying so much. Unfortunately crying wouldn’t change the reality. My mother had to break the news to everyone over the phone. It was very painful hearing my mom breaking the news to the rest of the relatives, but we had no choice. In conclusion, our life has changed dramatically ever since my father’s death because my mother had to take all the responsibilities. Life was never the same for us, for we are missing the head of the household. Since the loss of our father is a fact, we had to live with the pain and get used to it. And every time that date passes we remember the grief of losing our father.

Bird flu
Powered by Froala Editor
Bird flu, also known as avian influenza, is a viral infection that primarily affects birds but can also infect humans and other animals. The virus occurs naturally among wild aquatic birds but can spread to domestic poultry, such as chickens and turkeys, through direct contact with infected birds or contaminated surfaces. There are several strains of bird flu virus, some of which can cause mild illness in birds, while others can be highly pathogenic and lead to severe outbreaks with high mortality rates.
In humans, bird flu infections are rare but can occur through close contact with infected birds or their droppings. Symptoms of bird flu in humans can range from mild, flu-like symptoms to severe respiratory illness and even death in some cases. The risk of human-to-human transmission is generally low, but certain strains of the virus, such as H5N1 and H7N9, have raised concerns about the potential for widespread outbreaks and pandemics.
Preventing bird flu requires strict biosecurity measures in poultry farms and markets to limit the spread of the virus among birds. These measures include proper sanitation, quarantining sick birds, and controlling movement of poultry and poultry products. In addition, vaccination of poultry against highly pathogenic strains of bird flu can help reduce the risk of outbreaks.
In humans, reducing the risk of bird flu involves avoiding direct contact with sick or dead birds, practicing good hygiene, and following food safety guidelines when handling and cooking poultry products. Health authorities also monitor bird flu outbreaks closely and may implement measures such as culling infected birds, restricting movement of poultry, and conducting surveillance and testing in affected areas to control the spread of the virus.
While bird flu remains a concern for both animal and human health, continued vigilance, surveillance, and collaboration among governments, health authorities, and the poultry industry are essential for preventing and managing outbreaks of this potentially serious disease.

Mini is good in her habits. She does not steal any food. She does not even touch any food if left uncovered. Whenever I take my food, it comes to me and sits next to me until I finish my meal. Sometimes it mews and twinkles its eyes as a symbol of modesty.
Mini is neat and clean by nature. She does not go out of the house and dust her body. She sleeps on my bed. If I am angry, she can understand. Then she mews softly and looks at me tenderly. So, I cannot beat her and drive away.
Most of the time by day it remains idle and sometimes it sleeps. But it remains awake all night to catch its prey. Sometimes it catches mice and cockroaches. It is a good hunter.
Mini is very fond of taking fish, meat, and milk. When it becomes hungry, it tries to steal fish and milk from the kitchen. For this, my mother is often angry with her.
Mini is liked by other members of my family. It plays with my little brothers and sister. They often walk about taking her in their arms. She never bites or scratches them. So, it is liked by all.
Mini kills rats, whenever she sees a mouse, she chases it and kills it. Thus, she does some good for us.
When I come back home, it becomes very cheerful and utters mews. It sits down under my table when I read in the evening. Sometimes it runs here and there and soon returns. It goes to my bedroom with me and jumps on my lap as if it wanted to sleep with me. After all, I like Mini very much.

Bangladesh Cricket

Cricket in Bangladesh has gained utmost popularity in recent times. Bangladesh has already achieved both one day and test status in the world cricket that clearly holds out the strength of our cricket. However, our cricket is still has various problems. We are yet to attain appreciable standard at international level. So, we have a lot of do.
Bangladesh achieved one-day status after winning ICC trophy a few years back. It was a great recognition for Bangladesh to play in world competition. After a long sustained development we finally achieved test status, the most glorious status in the world cricket.
Bangladesh cricket squad needs to be made more organized. Its batting line as well as bowling line must be strengthened further to fights the powerful sides. What is most dismal is that Bangladesh team is often easily defeat by the powerful opponents. It cannot live up to the required manifestation of skill.
But the condition can be changed with proper training and practice of our crackers. A good coach can make a big difference. A world famous coach may be employed and more rigorous practice sessions should be held. Only strenuous field practice van make our cricket team reach the desired standard.
Good Cricketers need to be searched around the country and picked up for the national team. Hence domestic cricket tournaments should regularly be organized. To make young talents, tournaments should also be held at the schools, Colleges and universities. Young cricketers would emerge from those tournaments, and some of them may well find their in the national team.
We should take action that politics does not enter our cricket. Cricket should be kept out of politics and the Cricket Control Board should be manned by really expert persons. Any kind of political interference may lead to wrong selection of players and consequently formation of a weak team. It the management is efficient and the team spirit is maintained, our cricket team can go a long way to world class standard and repeated victory.
Cricket is now a popular game in Bangladesh. People in the cities and villages equally love cricket. Cricket has been so popular that football and others playing grounds are gradually being transformed into cricket grounds. The Banga Bondhu National Stadium is now used for cricket. Nevertheless, we need more cricket grounds for practice and tournaments. There should be a cricket ground in every district, and regular tournaments should be organized there.

The person you hate most
Powered by Froala Editor
Sandy is the person whom I hate most. He is lazy and idle. He does not value time. He shirks work. He is most irregular and unpunctual. He is always late for school. He never comes with his homework. He is always standing on the bench. He is his own enemy.
He is always in the company of bad boys. He commits mistakes after, mistakes. He is great mischief- monger. He always indulges in gossips, He wastes his time. He is quite careless. He is never serious. He is a fool of the first water.
His parents are very much sick of him. They are fed up with his antics and pranks. The neighbours come to his parents with complaints against him. They are always tired of him because of his misbehavior and bad manners. He is a cunning fellow, putting the blame at others’ doors. Fie never admits his fault. He pretends to be innocent and harmless. In reality, he is a rogue and a knave.
He fails in every home-test. He has been in the same class for the last three years. When he is asked the cause of the repeated ‘failures, he smiles like a ruffian and replies that he is gaining experience. He is strengthening his foundation. May God save us from his bad influence! His very shadow is full of hatred.
He is given to bad habits. He drinks and gambles. He is a vagabond. He is not fit to be called a true friend of anyone. He is extremely quarrelsome. He is a source of constant trouble to others. He shrugs his shoulders in irresponsibility. He is a great nuisance. He is an all-time headache.
He has been caned time and again by the Principal of the school. He has been punished by his parents. There is the least improvement in him. He is incorrigible. May God give him sense and wisdom!

Band Show
Powered by Froala Editor
Band shows are like big concerts where musicians from all over Bangladesh come to play their music. They play different kinds of songs, some traditional and some modern. These shows give new musicians a chance to show off their talent and let everyone hear their music.
But band shows are more than just music. They also talk about important things like helping poor people or stopping unfair things in society. This makes people think and talk about these issues.
One of the best things about band shows is how they bring people together. It doesn't matter who you are or where you're from – everyone comes to enjoy the music and have a good time. This helps people feel connected and happy.
In simple words, band shows in Bangladesh are like big parties with great music that make everyone feel like they're part of something special.

The NGO in Bangladesh
Powered by Froala Editor
A NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) is principally independent from government, which is organized on a local, national or international level to address issues in support of the public good. Generally, NGO performs a variety of services and charitable functions, brings public concerns to governments, monitor policy and program employment. It also encourages civil society to participate in the community level. Again, some NGOs are organized around specific issues, such as human rights. Numerous local, regional and international NGOs have played an essential role in national rule of law change processes and at the global and international level. Some conduct research and analysis in the legal and other fields (e.g. sociology, economics) relevant to the rule of law. In many cases, they produce reports with policy recommendations. Besides, NGOs often serve and help to monitor the international agreements. Again, in the rule of law field most non-governmental organizations are engaged in some form of direct assistance or services, including advising on law-making and other forms of technical assistance and manage rule of law projects. The number of national and local NGOs worldwide that engage in such rule of law activities is vast. In fact, they play an important role for the common people and the nation.

Bad effects of social media
Powered by Froala Editor
You might be surprised to learn that the negative effects of social media are both physical and mental. They can change your perception of the world and yourself. While social media does have some positive effects, and there are certainly positive social media stories, it also has a lot in the drawback column.
Don't believe this? Read on for a list of social media's negative effects. If you recognize any of them as issues in your own life, it may be time to reduce your usage or even stop using social media altogether.
1. Depression and Anxiety
Do you spend several hours per day browsing through social media? Spending too long on social networking sites could adversely affect your mood. In fact, chronic social users are more likely to report poor mental health, including symptoms of anxiety and depression.
It doesn't take much thinking to figure out why. Social media lets you see the carefully selected best parts of everyone else's lives, which you then compare to the negatives in your own life (that only you see). Comparing yourself to other people is a sure path to anxiety and unhappiness, and social media has made this much easier to do.
So how do you use social media without causing yourself psychological distress? If you turn to the same research (and common sense), the recommended amount of time you should spend on social networks is around half an hour per day. As with many other potential ills in life, it's all about moderation.
If you find yourself upset after a social media session, also consider the networks you use and the people you follow. You're much more likely to feel anxious after reading political arguments and doomsday news than you are after seeing fun updates from your favorite musicians or photos of your friends' pets.
2. Cyberbullying
Before social media, bullying was something that was only possible to do face-to-face. However, now people can bully others online—anonymously or not. Today everyone knows what cyberbullying is, and most of us have seen what it can do to a person.
While social media makes it easier to meet new people and make friends, it also enables cruel people to tear into others with little effort. Perpetrators of bullying can use the anonymity that (some) social networks provide to gain people's trust and then terrorize them in front of their peers. For instance, they might create a fake profile and act friendly to a classmate, then later betray and embarrass them online.
These online attacks often leave deep mental scars and even drive people to hurt themselves or take their own lives, in some cases. And as it turns out, cyberbullying doesn't just affect kids. Adults can become victims of online abuse, too. Since screens hide our faces, you can end up being a jerk on social media and other websites without even realizing it.
Learn how to make your Instagram profile more private, and apply the same advice to other social networks, if you suffer from this issue.
3. FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)
Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) is a phenomenon that became prominent around the same time as the rise of social media. Unsurprisingly, it's one of the most widespread negative effects of social media on society.
FOMO is just what it sounds like: a form of anxiety that you get when you're scared of missing out on a positive experience that someone else is having. For example, you might constantly check your messages to see if anyone has invited you out, or focus on your Instagram feed all day to make sure that nobody is doing something cool without you. You may also see pictures of something fun that your friends were able to do, feeling left out that you couldn't go because you had another responsibility.
This fear receives constant fuel from what you see on social media. With increased social network use, there's a better chance for you to see that someone is having more fun than you are right now. That's exactly what causes FOMO, so if you're prone to this, know how to prevent FOMO when using social media (or cut back on using it altogether).
4. Unrealistic Expectations
As most people are probably aware, social media forms unrealistic expectations of life and friendships in our minds.
Most social media sites have a severe lack of online authenticity. People use Snapchat to share their exciting adventures, post about how much they love their significant other on Facebook, and load up their Instagram page with heavily staged photos.
But in reality, you have no way of knowing whether this is all a farce. While it looks great on the surface, that person could be in massive debt, on bad terms with their significant other, or desperate for Instagram likes as a form of validation.
One simple way out of this mess is for everyone to quit lying on social media. But in the era of Instagram influencers and YouTubers who earn millions from being inauthentic, that isn't going to happen anytime soon.
Remember an important adage: you should not judge your everyday life against the highlights of someone else's.
5. Negative Body Image
Speaking of Instagram celebrities, if you look at popular Instagram accounts, you'll find unbelievably beautiful people wearing expensive clothes on their perfectly shaped bodies.
And to nobody's surprise, body image is now an issue for almost everyone. Of course, seeing so many people who are supposedly perfect (according to society's standards) on a daily basis makes you conscious of how different you look from those pictures. And not everyone comes to healthy conclusions in this situation.
It's really important to remember that everybody is human. No one wakes up every day looking like a supermodel, and while many people have gone to great lengths to train their bodies, that's not the case for everyone who looks fit. Many people, in search of social media fame, have definitely taken unhealthy routes to appear more attractive.
Surround yourself with people who love you for who you are, and you won't have to stress about fake Instagram beauty.
6. Unhealthy Sleep Patterns
On top of increasing the cases of anxiety and depression, another bad thing about social media is that spending too much time on it can lead to poor sleep. Numerous studies have shown that increased use of social media has a negative effect on your sleep quality.
If you feel that your sleep patterns have become irregular, leading to a drop in productivity, try to cut down on the amount of time you browse social media.
This is especially the case when using your phone in bed at night. It's all too easy to tell yourself that you'll spend five minutes checking your Facebook notifications, only to realize an hour later that you've been mindlessly scrolling through some nonsense on Twitter you don't even care about.
Don't let social media algorithms, which are designed to keep your attention for as long as possible, steal your valuable sleep too. Getting less sleep, combined with that sleep being lower quality, is a dangerous, unhealthy combination.
7. General Addiction
Social media can be more addictive than cigarettes and alcohol. It has a powerful draw for many people that leads to them checking it all the time without even thinking about it.
If you're not sure whether you're addicted to social networks, try to remember the last time you went a full day without checking any social media accounts. Do you feel rejected if someone unfollows you? And if your favorite social networks completely disappeared tomorrow, would the absence make you feel empty and depressed?
At the end of the day, social media sites want to keep you scrolling for as long as possible so they can show you lots of ads and make more money. Because of the attention economy, these sites need your eyes on them for as long as possible. Apps like TikTok feed you a constant barrage of quick videos that destroy your attention span over time.
Just because you've been going overboard on social media use doesn't mean you necessarily need to wipe out all your social networking accounts. However, if you think quitting is the best solution for you, it isn't a bad idea. See our guide to quitting social media for good if you'd like help.
How to Handle the Negative Effects of Social Media
As with everything else, there are good and bad aspects of social media. We've discussed some of the negative impacts social media has for many, but you're the one who must decide whether there's more help or harm in it for you personally.
If you find that social media is having a negative impact on your life, stop using it. However, if you decide to stay, there are ways to waste less time on social media, and thus maintain a healthier relationship with it.

The movie I like most
Powered by Froala Editor
Every individual has a favorite movie that they cherish, one that resonates with their emotions and intellectual curiosity. My favorite movie is “Inception,” directed by Christopher Nolan. This film is a perfect blend of science fiction and psychological thriller, offering a deep exploration of the human mind.
Plot and Characters
“Inception” revolves around a character named Dom Cobb, played by Leonardo DiCaprio. Cobb is a thief who infiltrates people’s dreams to steal their secrets. The plot thickens when he’s given a task not to extract, but to implant an idea into someone’s mind, a process known as ‘Inception.’ The ensemble cast, including Ellen Page, Tom Hardy, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, each bring unique depth to their characters.
Symbolism and Themes
The movie delves into themes of reality, perception, and subconscious mind, challenging traditional narrative structures. The spinning top, a recurring symbol in the film, represents Cobb’s struggle to distinguish reality from dreams, adding a layer of complexity and intrigue.
Impact and Conclusion
“Inception” is not merely a movie, but an intellectual journey. It provokes thoughts about our perception of reality and the power of our subconscious mind. The movie’s ending, which leaves the audience questioning whether Cobb is in a dream or reality, amplifies its thought-provoking nature. This ambiguity and the film’s intricate exploration of complex themes make “Inception” my favorite movie. It serves as a testament to the power of cinema to not only entertain but also to stimulate intellectual and philosophical discourse.

The journey I have enjoyed
Powered by Froala Editor
There is nothing better than the emotions and feelings one can receive from setting out on an adventure. Journeys help us to forget about our everyday issues. That is why I want to tell you about the best journey of my life.
It started at home as I began to pack items for a journey. I was excited because my parents and I were going to Thailand, the most interesting place to me. I could not imagine what it would be like.
The first experience we had when we got out of the plane to enter Thailand was the tropical, wet, hot air that permeated the environment. We arrived at our hotel on the south of Phuket Island. Beauty seemed to be all around us. From the one side of the road there was the lush greenery of the tropical forest, from the other there were turquoise waves of the Andaman Sea.
We decided to spend our first days on a cozy seacoast and take a rest from a tiresome trip. The weather was wonderful. The sun was shining and the water was so warm, placid and limpid that we could see our shadows in it. I had the impression nothing else existed in this world besides us, nor the cares of everyday life nor urban fuss. We were enjoying every minute of our rest, slowly sipping coconut milk through a tube straight out of a coconut. The days were changing from one to another with new, bright, unforgettable emotions and impressions.
We wanted to pass one day away on motorbikes, studying the island. Our trip took a whole day and we managed to bike the half of the island riding along the coast. The views we saw on our journey showed us another side of local life. People were in a hurry going to work or attending other business. The traffic in Thailand is extremely busy and noisy. A lot of people ride motorbikes, which is a distinguishing feature of Thailand.
All the way long, we made breaks to taste the delicacies of the local cuisine in snack bars. I enjoyed Thai food immensely with its extraordinary combination of sweet, sour, and spicy flavors. Sometimes the dishes were so spicy, that tears streamed from my eyes.
We also decided to diversify a bit, and go to less touristic parts of the island. Our island was covered by steep hills. The picturesque view of the tropical jungles and endless spaces of the sea with many adjoining islands, and the beauty and splendor of local nature was opened to us. I was overfilled with the sense of infinite freedom and peace of mind. There was the impression that nothing is necessary in life except this place and moment.
It was a truly sad realization when we knew we had to travel back home. The whirlwind of emotions and feelings swept over my mind: this is completely another world, with its climate, people, food, traditions, and customs that charm and dip you in the extraordinary atmosphere of calmness and composure. I remember it now with freshness and understand that it was the best journey of my life.

My favorite food is Biryani, a delicious and popular dish that is enjoyed by people all over the world. It is a type of rice dish that is usually made with meat, fish, or vegetables, along with a variety of spices and herbs. Biryani has its origins in the Indian subcontinent and is believed to have been brought to the region by traders from the Middle East. Over time, the dish has evolved and adapted to the local cuisine, with different regions having their own unique variations of the dish. I love Biryani because it has a perfect combination of flavors and textures. The combination of rice, meat or fish, vegetables, and a variety of spices and herbs creates a unique taste that is both flavorful and comforting. A sweet dream
Powered by Froala Editor
A dream is not a new thing for us. When we are asleep, we dream a lot of things. Some dreams are happy but some are unpleasant. When we have a sweet dream, we feel happy. One night I had very pleasant dream. The memory of that dream is still fresh in my mind. I feel that I shall not forget it for a long time to come.
In my dream I found myself at an aerodrome. I saw a wonderful airplane. There was no pilot in it. I had never seen the inside of an airplane. The inside of the airplane was like a well-furnished room. I saw a button in a corner. As soon as I pushed it the plane gave a jerk. I felt like rising up in the air. I was filled with excitement. I enjoyed the thrilling experience. The plane rose up higher and higher. When I peeped through the window, the earth looked like a Hugh ball. After a few hours I saw a round object shining in the sky. I felt that it was the moon. I was thrilled when I realized that the plane was flying towards the moon at a terrific speed. Strange ideas came into my mind but I was not frightened.
After some time the plane landed. When I came out of the plane, I saw some strange people. They were like human beings but they had wings. One of them came near me and spoke something but I could not understand him. I made a sign that I was hungry. He understood me and made a sign that I should accompany him. He took me to his house. I was filled with wonder when I saw that the house was made of gold and silver. After taking food I went out for a walk. I saw magnificent buildings which were made of gold and silver. I roamed about for a long time. I liked the place so much that I made up my mind to settle there.
In the meantime someone gave me a jerk. I woke up and saw my mother in my room. Suddenly my dream was shattered and I found myself on the earth.

A rose
Powered by Froala Editor
Rose is a beautiful flower with a sweet fragrance. It is a very popular flower that can be found commonly in gardens. It is my favourite flower because it is the epitome of beauty and purity. Rose signifies many emotions, like love and joy. That’s why we gift roses or bouquets of roses to the ones we love.
Roses can be grown in flower beds as well as flower pots. It can be found in many parts of the world, when grown under the right conditions. They require some sunlight, cool climate and regular watering. Even in cities where these weather conditions are not met, roses can be grown in special arrangements like greenhouse.
Origin Of Rose Flower
Initially, rose flowers were known to be wildflowers, and they came from many parts of the earth. They are found in many continents, like Asia, Europe, North America, and northwest Africa. According to research, there are over a hundred species of roses that have been discovered in the world. Research then found means to grow these wildflowers in the vicinity of houses especially in gardens.
Importance And Uses Of Rose Flower
Rose is most popular for its good scent. This is because, naturally, the rose flower produces a beautiful fragrance. This fragrance comes from its petals, as there are tiny perfume glands on them. So, rose extracts are used as natural perfumes.
Similarly, rose water extracted out of rose petals is used in many cultures for many purposes. It has many beneficial effects on the skin when applied directly, thus, it is part of many cosmetic products.
Rose petals can be eaten even in their raw form, thus, rose is used as a natural flavouring ingredient. In the simplest form, the rose essence is used to make syrups which is used in preparations like rose falooda, rose sherbet and rose milk. Rose petals mixed with sugar are also used to prepare a sweet preserve known as gulkand, which is eaten for a cooling effect in the stomach.
Rose flower has a symbolic significance in different cultures. For example, the red rose is a symbol of love. No other flower is as popular as a red rose when it comes to conveying feelings of love. This is evident from the huge number of red roses used on special occasions like weddings, anniversaries, engagements and Valentine’s Day. Not just that, there is a special day dedicated to expressing emotions by gifting roses. Rose Day is observed every year on February 12.

Teen age love
Powered by Froala Editor
Love is a potent emotion and it is easy to be judgemental about teenage love, dismiss it as ‘puppy love’ and not the so-called real thing since a body and mind as yet undeveloped and unmatured, to process the complexities and intricacies of such an evolved and onerous emotion, is as yet unprepared.
The power of love is infinite. It can lead, inspire and turn ordinary folks into poets, writers, artists and muses. It can make the most laid back of us plod to the end of the earth to attain the impossible but such kind of love needs time, passion and concerted effort to make it work. Youngsters who are still grappling with the rapid changes in their own mind, body and hormones need time to figure this out and any haste might lead to a lot of setbacks, heartbreak, anxiety related disorders, dip in academic performance, a dilution of their career goals and in worst of circumstances lifelong scars.
With the onslaught of internet, young minds are exposed, before time to love, sex and passion. Getting in and out of relationships has become more of a contest between peers rather an organic process of falling in love. Where the tag of being single invites derision, humiliation even ridicule, it is not surprising to find youngsters keen to jump into the bandwagon of dating, just to keep pace with their friends, throwing all good sense and caution to the winds.
Their minds who have yet to realise the profundity of this emotion, fails to sift out love from a mere attraction towards opposite sex. Too many heartbreaks and separationslater, they might be wiser but unnecessarily scarred. Their minds, which is yet evolving, is not equipped to churn out logical, sane responses to bubbling emotions and jealousy, over-possessiveness and dejection may make them prone to over-anxiety, depression, violent outbursts , even suicidal contemplations.
Their emotional ineptitude makes them unaware of how resilient the heart can be. Where every dejection seems to be an assault f their identity, where every break-up might seem catastrophic, where every new attraction might seem the love of one’s life, dating on a one-to-one basis, at such a tender age is bound to have serious ramification, if unguided and unsupported.
Where the only emotion which makes the world go round seems to be love for the opposite sex, an entire chunk of growing up phase is deeply compromised. Camaraderie with friends, bonding with parents, rapport with siblings, relationships with mentors take a backseat and some very beautiful moments of growing up phase in life is left unformed and incomplete. Academic performance is bound to suffer in the wake such major emotional and mental upheavals and career goals compromised.
Getting physical on a one-to-one dating is but a natural progression. But a youngster whose body is still in the process of growing up is largely unaware of the safe methods of precautions to be observed in order to have a healthy relationship and a small margin of error in such circumstances lead to irrevocable consequences financially, physically, mentally and emotionally the consequences will be way out of league for a young one to handle.
Wouldn’t it rather be a better option to indulge in a lot of free interactive sessions with the members of the opposite sex without the awkwardness and burden of one-to-one dating? Getting to know the opposite sex, mingling with them as friends, hanging out with them and then perhaps as time progresses and adulthood seeps in, gradually coming to realization what one actually seeks in a partner and how committed and responsible one can be, to take the next logical step forward through a one-to-one dating to hopefully land up with one’s soul-mate.

A journey by boat
Powered by Froala Editor
Bangladesh is a riverine country. These rivers give us ample opportunity for a journey by boat. In some respects, a journey by boat is more pleasant than a train journey. Whenever I get a chance, I avail of it and enjoy a journey by boat.
During the last autumn vacation, I went by boat to the village home of a friend. My friend’s house is situated on the bank of the river Karnafully named Charandwip.
We were five in number. We took a guitar and a Yashica Camera. We took some light food too. We hired a boat with one manjhee and two oarsmen. Taking breakfast, we started at 8 a.m. It was a fine morning. A gentle breeze was blowing. The river was calm. There were ripples in the river. When we were in the middle of the river, we saw many beautiful sights on both sides of the river. We took snaps of corn fields. We saw many boats and steamers plying to and fro on the river. We saw many ships sometimes we met trawlers. There were fishermen’s boats with nets spread in the water.
The river was full to the brim. The murmuring sound of the river charmed us. We saw some bathing ghats. Men and women were bathing and children were swimming and splashing in the water. In the meantime, one of my friends played on his guitar. Birds of various kinds were flying then. All these sights created a profound impression on our minds.
The manjhee began to sing a ‘Bhatiali song.’ The sun was setting. It was evening. But the river became loveliest in the evening when the waves danced and sparkled under the crimson rays of the setting sun. We recalled the poetic line of Keats-
At 7 p.m. we reached the ghat. My friend came to the ghat to receive us. At about 8 o’clock we reached his house.
Indeed, the journey by boat is pleasant and thrilling. Such a journey refreshes our minds and provides us with joy and pleasure. It removes our monotony and widens our knowledge. However, our journey by boat came to a happy end. It will be always memorable for me.

Sundarban
Powered by Froala Editor
The Sundarbans, located on the coast of the Bay of Bengal in the southwest part of Bangladesh and in West Bengal, India, is one of the largest mangrove forests in the world. Spread across an area of about 3,900 square miles and comprising thousands of streams, creeks, rivers, and estuaries, it is a unique blend of natural beauty and biodiversity.
The name of the forest is derived from the abundant Sundari trees that grow within its boundaries, making it an ideal habitat for a wide variety of species, including the Royal Bengal Tiger and the spotted deer.
The Sundarbans has been designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and it attracts visitors from all over the world who come to admire its beauty and observe the wildlife that calls this place home. Additionally, the forest also provides valuable resources for wood-based industries, making it a critical part of the national economy in both Bangladesh and India.
However, this stunning natural treasure is facing a serious threat in the form of river erosion, which is causing the forested coastline to retreat by up to 200 meters a year. If erosion continues at this alarming rate, the Sundarbans will disappear in the next 50 years in Bangladesh and within 20 years in India, along with the majestic tigers and other wildlife that inhabit the area.
It is therefore imperative that we take urgent action to protect this unique and valuable ecosystem before it is too late. This is not just a local issue, but a global concern that requires a concerted effort from all of us. The world needs to come together to save the Sundarbans, the Royal Bengal Tigers, and all the other species that call this forest home.

A historical place you have seen
Powered by Froala Editor
Being a “Bangladeshi”, I take pride in many of the historical heritage of my country, including a number of historical places, which has carried a very rich and eventful past of my country for centuries. Today, I would like to talk about one such historical place, called the “Panam city”, which is unique in every true sense.
“Panam city” sits in the city of “Sonargaon”, located about 29 kilometres north of the capital “Dhaka”. Covering an area of almost 20 kilometres, “Panam city” once used to be the capital of the 15th century “Bengal” and thrived as the major inland port and centre of commerce and politics. Later in the 17th and 18th century, it also became the centre of trade for “muslin” (a special but “plain weave” of very fine cotton fabric which was very popular in the European market, the middle east and other markets all over the world for its “very special quality”).
The “lost city”, as it is called by many and is also known to be the only abandoned city of its kind in the whole world, has about 50+ old houses on the same street. But, even the houses are centuries old, they still bear the regal signs on their ancient walls, bricks and the terracotta on the black stones. Another very significant and unique aspect of this “lost city” is that it marked the end of the line of the “Grand Trunk Road”, one of Asia’s oldest and longest major roads, which had linked the Indian subcontinent with Central Asia for almost 2500 years.
Anyway, as I was strolling through the “old ruins” of one of the most distinguished cities of the “old world”, I couldn’t help but feeling both the energy and aristocracy sustained from a very “bustling city” of a bygone era. Besides, the medieval houses and monuments under the sunny weather looked like they had a lot of stories to share with us if only they could talk, and we had time to listen and learn from the past that nothing really lasts forever.

Students politics
Powered by Froala Editor
Introduction: Student life is the time to acquire knowledge and to prepare oneself for the challenges of future life. The main job of a student is to study. Being aware of the social, economic, and cultural matters of one’s country is also important for a student. It is necessary for a student to have proper knowledge about problems related to his society and country and to prepare himself for solving those problems in a constructive way.
Justification of Student Politics: Whether student politics is justified is a matter of debate. Student politics has played a pivotal role in the liberation movement of this country. Still, considering the role of student politics in the present situation of Bangladesh one can hardly support student politics. It should not be an exaggeration to say that student politics has been criminalized in Bangladesh. Students are consistently being used in criminal and terrorist activities. Student wings of the political parties have become a safe haven for evil-doers. Considering this situation, it is reasonable to assume that student politics is not admissible in a country like Bangladesh.
Present Condition of Student Politics: There are many reasons behind the lamentable condition of student politics in Bangladesh. First of all, political leaders are misleading students in the name of politics and using the students to fulfill their narrow interests. The leaders provide money and arms to the students and take them away from active study. Secondly, the educational system of the country has failed to provide proper education and guidance to the students.
History of Student Politics: We have a glorious history of student politics. Under the occupation of the British and the Pakistanis, the students of the country have always worked actively to safeguard the interest of the mass people. They were like the conscience of the nation. They had remarkable contributions to the movements of liberation against British rule and the later Pakistani rule. The language movement of 1952 was basically organized by the students. Many people including students died in the movement to uphold the dignity of the mother language on the 21st February 1952.
Corrective Measures: The following measures may be undertaken to purge student politics. They may be as follows:Student wings of the political parties should be abolished and students should be dissociated from the affiliation of political parties. The scope and activities of student politics should be kept limited to personal awareness programs, and non-political student unions in the educational institutions.Measures should be taken to prevent students from taking part in the crime. To this end, the environment of educational institutions and the quality of education need to be improved. Besides, the overall law and order situation of the country also needs improvement.

A country you want to visit

In my inquisitive mind, I want to visit every single country in the world, but it is not possible as I don’t have a limitless flow of money or all the time in the world to fulfil this wish. So, bringing my expectations to a practical level, I have plans to visit at least 5 to 6 countries in the next couple of years, and Switzerland stands at the top of this wish list.Switzerland is, undoubtedly, one of the most beautiful countries in the world, and I marvel at the sheer beauty of the wide-green fields and snow-capped mountains that I have seen on TV or in magazines. I have a school friend who lives there with her family and it was her who stirred my interests in this country. I have heard about her skiing on the mountain slopes, exciting experiences in the countryside, and experimenting with different cuisines. Even though those are just stories and experiences, it ignited my imagination on how beautiful the country would be and how much I would enjoy exploring it.I’ll visit Switzerland sometime in the middle of the next year if everything goes according to my plan. I have already shared my ideas with my parents and they would be okay with me travelling there with one of my close friends. So, I will possibly visit this country which is famous for its celestial beauty, delicious chocolates and finest watch, with Elizabeth, who also wants to visit Switzerland with me.I believe visiting Switzerland would be once in a lifetime experience for me. It will offer exciting and exhilarating adventures while also materialising my dreams. I’ve also heard a lot about high-quality Swiss watches and the punctuality of Swiss people, which I would like to witness myself. I would also like to enjoy beautiful landscapes, culture, foods and things in their way while in Switzerland.

Solar panel
Powered by Froala Editor
All life on Earth receives its energy from the sun. Solar energy is what we get from the sun; it comes to us in the form of tiny light particles called photons. All types of microorganisms and single-celled organisms were created with the help of solar energy, and plants have been using this energy since the beginning of time. As a result, every living thing on Earth is directly or indirectly dependent on the sun. Since solar energy is entirely renewable, it is available as long as there is sunlight. Because no harmful gases, chemicals, or fly ash are produced, it is also pollution-free. Using photovoltaic cells, solar energy can be transformed into thermal or electrical energy. Solar energy has no production costs.
But there are some drawbacks to solar energy. For instance, solar energy can be harnessed for various activities only during the day when there is sufficient sunlight available. When compared to conventional power plants with the same capacity, the cost of installing solar energy panels is very high, and the amount of energy produced here is very low. However, as science and technology advance, we can harness solar energy and use it as our primary energy source.

Early rising

There is a proverb which tells us about the benefit of early rising: “Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise”.
Early rising is a good habit. It leads to improvement of health and prolongation of our life. It is the best time for prayer to God. The greatest advantage of early rising is that it gives a good start of a hard day’s work, while the others are still in bed. We can complete the day’s work without having to rush through it.
A little exercise at this time will keep the early riser fit for the day. Walking in the open air at this time is also very pleasant. The birds sing, the air is fresh and there is serenity all over. Nature which is fresh and peaceful has a beauty of its own at this time.
All these refresh the mind and body of an early riser and make him fit for working hard. Early rising should be made a regular habit as it leads to happiness and good health.

Social media

A popular and quickly growing knowledge and interaction outlet are social media where people are free to gain information and express their thoughts. Sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are social media platforms dominant internationally.
In our fast-paced, busy life, social media brings a breadth of relief and enjoyment for a few minutes, which makes us energized to focus on what we were doing afresh. One of the best aspects of social media is that it helps people re-connect who once lost touch, but the only limitation is that both of them must have an account on social media.
Just like truth spreads precisely and fast through social media, so does fake-news and rumors as well. It is our duty as respectable netizens to focus on the truth and stop the spreading of fake content as much as possible by avoiding or revolting.
In the age of social media, people have also gained power over mass communication, which means a greater audience can be reached in a very short time and very fewer efforts. And the development of social media was possible because of the surging communication information.
The boons and banes are debatable when it comes to the matter of social media. But we need to use social media advantageously and avoid toxic means. Social media should be used to create awareness for good purposes like drawing attention to that news which needs justice but does not get enough attention from the public.
Seldom have we realized that social media is an addictive pit, and soon this addiction leads to us mindless either scrolling or posting or involving in dumb conflicts that in no way will benefit us.

Political unrest
Powered by Froala Editor
Political unrest happens when people aren't happy with their government or leaders. It can be protests, strikes, or even fighting. This unhappiness comes from many things like not having enough money, being treated unfairly, not having enough freedom, or when leaders are corrupt and don't listen to people.
One big reason for political unrest is when some people are very poor and can't get what they need to live a good life. When this happens, they get angry at the leaders who aren't helping them.
Another reason is when some groups of people are treated badly because of things like their race, religion, or where they come from. When this happens, they feel like it's not fair, and they want things to change.
People also get upset when they can't say what they think or do what they want. When governments stop people from speaking out or doing things they believe in, they feel like they're not free.
Corruption, which means when leaders use their power to get things for themselves instead of helping people, also makes people very angry. When leaders are dishonest or take money for themselves, people lose trust in them.
Lastly, when leaders are too controlling and don't let people have a say in how things are run, it can cause a lot of upset. People want to have a say in their own lives and be treated fairly.
In short, political unrest happens when people are unhappy with their leaders or government. It can be because they're poor, treated unfairly, not free, dealing with corruption, or not allowed to have a say in how things are done.

Overbridge

A permanent citizen of Bangladesh who is not below eighteen years of age is eligible to become a voter and will become the bearer of voter ID card. Under the UNDP project in collaboration with Bangladesh Army. the Election Commission launched a massive programme to prepare the voter list with photographs with a view to holding free, fair and credible elections. Nine major development partners through a UNDP project provided the financial support to this issue. There is an agreement between UNDP and Election Commission and ERD (Economic Relations Division). The UNDP project helps establish the technical infrastructure and other requirements necessary to complete the voter list with photos. The project includes funding the ICT equipment like laptops, webeams and fingerprint scanners, required for completing the nation wide digital voter registration. This gigantic effort of the Election Commission has come true. Initially it raised a big question in the minds of the countrymen whether the voter list would be completed within the scheduled time. But it is astounding that the full co-operation of Bangladesh Army and the peoples participation in the process of the new voter list has immensely helped the Election Commission complete it in time. This photo attached to voter ID card will work as a national identity card for every voter. The card holders are entitled to certain advantages by the state. The national icon of Bangladesh is the Bengal Tiger (Panthera tigris tigris), also known as the Royal Bengal Tiger. This majestic animal holds significant cultural and symbolic importance in Bangladesh, representing strength, courage, and national pride.
The Bengal Tiger is the largest tiger subspecies and is native to the Indian subcontinent, including Bangladesh. Historically, tigers roamed freely across the region's forests, symbolizing the country's rich biodiversity and natural heritage. However, due to habitat loss, poaching, and other threats, the Bengal Tiger population has declined significantly, making its conservation a priority for Bangladesh and the global community.
The Bengal Tiger is not only a symbol of Bangladesh's natural beauty but also embodies the nation's struggle for independence and sovereignty. During the Liberation War of 1971, the image of the Bengal Tiger featured prominently in nationalist propaganda and was adopted as a symbol of resistance against oppression.
Today, the Bengal Tiger serves as a national emblem and appears on various official emblems, logos, and symbols of Bangladesh, including currency notes, government seals, and military insignia. Efforts to conserve and protect the Bengal Tiger's habitat are ongoing, with initiatives aimed at preserving Bangladesh's rich biodiversity and ensuring the survival of this iconic species for future generations.

National Flag
Powered by Froala Editor
Our national flag is the symbol of our independence and sovereignty. We got independence through a bloody liberation war and we have lost millions of lives in the war. That is how we earn our national flag. This is a matter of our emotions and pride. Every independent country in the world has its own national flag. We also have our national flag which is rectangular. There is a certain ratio to make our national flag. Its length and width ratio should be 10:6. It can be made of different materials like cotton, silk or linen. The rectangular background is green in color. There is a circle inside the rectangle and that is red in color. There are some reasons for this color scheme. The green background reminds us of our green motherland. As we are a country with green lands and crops everywhere, this green background is the symbol of our land. It is also the symbol of our evergreen youth that want to take the country far. It also reminds us of the valiant struggle of our evergreen youth that gave us independence. The red circle in the middle is the symbol of the glowing sun that gives energy to all of us. It also has another symbolic meaning that is tragic. We have lost millions of lives during our liberation war and our motherland has been freed from the oppressors in the cost of their blood. This is remembered while designing our national flag and Kamrul Hasan is the designer of our national flag. This red circle reminds us of the bloodshed that happened to give us an independent and sovereign country. There are certain laws regarding our national flag. It should always be made in proper ratio and it should never be torn. Our national flag is hoisted on top of all government buildings, courts and offices, educational institutions. It is hoisted in the morning and retracted in the evening. Our national flag must not be hoisted at night. Our national flag remains half-mast during any national holiday and no other flags should be hoisted on top of our national flag. It is a great honor and pride for us to have an independent country and our national flag as the symbol of our independence. We should always be careful to keep its honor upright and bear the moral.

As I journey through life, I am blessed to have my mother by my side, guiding me with her love and wisdom every step of the way. She is my rock, my anchor, and my greatest blessing, and I am eternally grateful for the gift of her presence in my life.

My memorable experience
The most memorable day of my life was when I went on a school trip to Cox’s Bazar beach in Bangladesh. It was my first time going to the beach, and I was so excited. We woke up early in the morning and got on a big bus with all of our classmates. The journey was long, but we played games and sang songs to pass the time.
Finally, we arrived at the beach, and I was amazed at how beautiful it was. The water was so blue and clear, and the sand was so white and soft. We changed into our bathing suits and ran into the water, splashing and playing with our friends. We built sandcastles and played beach volleyball.
After spending the morning at the beach, we had a picnic lunch. We had sandwiches, fruit, and juice. We sat on the sand and ate our lunch while listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. It was so peaceful and relaxing.
In the afternoon, we went for a walk along the beach. We collected seashells and took lots of pictures. We also went for a boat ride on the ocean, which was so much fun. We saw lots of fish swimming in the water, and some of us even got to touch them.
As the sun began to set, we sat on the beach and watched the sky turn orange and pink. It was so beautiful, and I felt so happy to be there with my friends. We sang songs and danced on the sand until it was time to go home.
That day was so special to me because I got to experience something new and exciting with my classmates. It was a day full of fun, laughter, and adventure. I will always remember that day and the memories we made together. It was truly the most memorable day of my life.

My first love letter
Powered by Froala Editor
Writing a love letter is like capturing feelings in a bottle, a simple yet profound act of pouring one's heart onto paper. When I penned my letter, I spoke of shared laughter, stolen glances, and the warmth of their smile. I expressed admiration, affection, and gratitude for their presence in my life. It wasn't about fancy words; it was about honesty and sincerity. As I sealed the envelope, I felt a mix of nerves and excitement. Regardless of the response, I knew I had spoken my truth. Love isn't about grand gestures; it's about vulnerability and authenticity. In the end, my simple love letter was a testament to the beauty of expressing feelings from the heart.

My childhood memories
Powered by Froala Editor
As I look back on my childhood, I am flooded with a mix of fondness and nostalgia. Those early years were filled with simple joys and precious moments that have left a lasting impression on me.
One of my favorite memories is playing outside with my friends until the sun dipped below the horizon. We would run around the neighborhood, playing tag, hide and seek, and all sorts of imaginative games. Our laughter echoed through the streets as we created our own adventures.
Weekends were always special because that meant family time. I remember waking up to the smell of pancakes sizzling on the stove, and gathering around the table with my parents and siblings to enjoy breakfast together. We would spend the day exploring nature, going for hikes, or having picnics in the park.
Some of my most cherished memories are of bedtime stories. Every night, my parents would tuck me into bed and read to me from my favorite books. Those moments of storytelling sparked my imagination and instilled in me a love for reading that continues to this day.
Of course, there were challenges too. I remember the occasional scraped knee from falling off my bike or the frustration of learning something new. But even in those moments, I had the support of my family and friends to cheer me on and help me through.
Looking back, I realize how lucky I was to have such a happy and carefree childhood. Those memories have shaped who I am today and serve as a reminder to cherish the simple joys in life.

My bitter experience
Powered by Froala Editor
Bitter experiences are tough times we face in life that are not pleasant but teach us important lessons. Imagine you are playing with your favorite toy and it breaks because you were not careful. You feel sad and regret not taking good care of it. This is a bitter experience. It’s like tasting a bitter fruit. You don’t like the taste, but it makes you realize that not all fruits are sweet. Similarly, not all experiences in life are happy or fun. Some are bitter, and they teach us to be more careful and responsible. Just like the broken toy teaches you to take better care of your things. Sometimes, we make mistakes, and we face problems because of them. These problems are our bitter experiences. But remember, these experiences are not bad because they help us learn and grow. They make us stronger and smarter. So, next time when you face a bitter experience, don’t be sad. Instead, think about what it teaches you and how you can avoid making the same mistake in the future.

My best moment
Powered by Froala Editor
There is always that one moment that everyone had in their lifetime. Whether it would be a life changing moment emotionally, physically, or just the peaceful moments you have to yourself to think, and wonder about your life in a whole. It is important to capture and keep those moments safe with you throughout your life so you can think back to them, and know that is what got you where you are right now. For me, my biggest moment was the time I was offered to go into the Gifted and Talented program. It was a life changing moment for me and I will never forget it.
It all started in the fourth grade when my teacher noticed that I was excelling at a fast pace and I seemed to understand concept more quickly than others. So at the end of the year, she was offering to sign me into the gifted and talented program. Of course I would have said yes but there were some cons. I would have to move to another school because the school I was currently at didn’t offer any gifted and talented programs. Also, I would have to make new friends, which was a big deal. After thinking about it, I finally decided to go through with it. I was excited to see what I was getting myself into.
At the start of the 5th grade at my new school, I already knew that this was for me. The pace was a lot faster, and the work was more challenging. It was going great, but I still did not have any friends. I was quiet for the first semester, I isolated myself from the others when I finally decided that I was going to have to make new friends. We were assigned new seats and I started to talk to the kid who was sitting right in front of me. We started to talk over lunch as well and we soon realized that we thought alike. It was like we were the same person. He liked the same stuff I did, we both were into sports, and we loved to have fun. The class was really cool too. For field trips, we did not go to the Museum of Art and Science like any old boring class does, we went to New Mexico and West Virginia. We got to travel! How cool is that?
Soon, middle school came around the corner, and because I was in the gifted and talented program, I had to take a test over the summer to see if I would qualify to be in the gifted and talented team at the school. And sure enough, I made the cut. I’d have to say though, it was difficult. Middle school was a tough time for me. It seemed like I did not understand a thing and everything sped by. I tried to catch up but I barely made it out. But high school came along, and although I wasn’t able to make it into the IB program, I still made it into honor classes and that is good enough for me.
I am a lot happier now than I was before and then I realized, if I wouldn’t have token that offer into the gifted and talented program, I would not be where I am today nor will I have the friends that I currently have now. The gifted and talented program has put me on a journey that I will never regret taking. That, was the moment of my life.

Micro credit system
Powered by Froala Editor
‘Microcredit’ means a very small amount of credit. However, this small amount of money can be very important for an extremely poor person. But it is difficult for a poor man to get any amount of loan from a bank without any security. Dr. Muhammad Yunus thought about this problem and invented a system through which thousands of people are getting microcredit without any kind of mortgage or security. It is also amazing that the rate of loan repayment is very high. It is about 98.85%.
The poverty of the people of Bangladesh made Dr. Md. Yunus sorry. He noticed that many active people could not become self-reliant for want of a small amount of money. He began to think to find a way of extending loans to the extremely poor people without any security. At that time he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Chittagong. He went to a local branch of Janata Bank near the University of Chittagong and asked the manager of the bank to extend loans to some poor people in the locality without any security. But the bank refused to extend the loan without any security. Then he personally stood as guarantor for those people. Those people were from a village named Jobra. Within six months the poor villagers repaid the loans. He expanded his work to some other villages. Then he prepared a project proposal for extending loans to poor people without any security and submitted the proposal to Bangladesh Krishi Bank. In 1976 the project started as a branch of Krishi Bank named Bangladesh Krishi Bank Experimental Grameen Branch but the overall authority of the branch was not given to Dr. Yunus by the board of the bank. From that project after overcoming many problems and managing Bangladesh Bank, the Minister of Finance and the Government, ‘Grameen Bank’ started as a bank on the 1st October 1983. At first as the Experimental Grameen Branch, then Grameen Bank Project, and at last, the scheme started operating as the Grameen Bank. In the beginning, the loan was extended to 42 people from the personal fund of Dr. Yunus. The number multiplied soon. At first, the government had 60% ownership of the project and the poor people had 40% ownership.
Grameen Bank has, so far, distributed about 29,000 crore taka as loans. The loan recovery is about 99%. The major portion of the borrowers is the poor village women. In this way, this micro-credit is playing an important role in ensuring women’s empowerment and gender equality. Now Grameen Bank has 2,226 branches. The members have 93% ownership and the rest 7% ownership goes to the government. In the beginning, the scheme operated with the personal fund of Dr. Yunus. Then the project ran for six years with government funding. From 1982 to 1995 loans and aid were taken from the donor agencies. In 1998 Grameen Bank took a loan from the local bank by issuing bonds through a government guarantee. Now Grameen Bank operates fully on its own money. The bank ensures development locally with the money of the local people. This idea of poverty alleviation through microcredit has become very popular and is being implemented in more than one hundred countries of the world.

Love marriage
Powered by Froala Editor
Love marriage, a concept that has gained considerable acceptance in contemporary society, is a marriage based on mutual affection and commitment. Unlike arranged marriages, love marriages are built on the foundation of shared experiences, compatibility, and profound understanding. Historically, marriages were primarily arranged, serving socio-economic purposes rather than personal fulfillment. However, the rise of individualism and personal liberty led to the evolution of love marriages. They symbolize the freedom to choose one’s life partner based on emotional connection rather than societal norms. Love marriages come with a plethora of advantages. The couple, having spent considerable time together before marriage, understands each other’s strengths, weaknesses, and life goals. This understanding fosters compatibility, reducing potential conflict. Furthermore, love marriages often promote equality as the relationship is not burdened by societal expectations. Despite the advantages, love marriages can face various challenges. They may encounter societal resistance, particularly in traditional societies. Additionally, the initial romantic love may fade over time, potentially leading to disillusionment. Love marriages, while not without challenges, offer a path to a fulfilling life partnership based on mutual respect, understanding, and shared life goals. As society continues to evolve, it is crucial to respect individual choices, be it love marriage or arranged, acknowledging that the essence of a successful marriage lies in mutual commitment and understanding.

International mother language day
Powered by Froala Editor
21st February is a red-letter day in the history of our nation. It is also a mourning day for us. It is a day of historical importance. The day reminds us of our language movement and the sacrifice of our heroic sons. Now we observe the day as international mother language day, formerly regarded as saheed dish. The day is a national holiday. UNESCO declared the day as international mother language day in November 1999. It is not observed in our country but is regarded as an international mother language day worldwide. One day in 1952, the Pakistani wanted to impose their undue language as our state language. They tried to take away our mother tongue. Then our heroic sons of Bangladesh established the Bangla language as the state language sacrificing their blood and lives. On the day. We pay homage to the shaheed minar with flowers to show respect for their sacrifice. We bow down, singing a traditional song, "Amar vai er route Mangano ekuse February, ami ki value pair." All Government and Government organizations bring out rallies very early in the morning, singing songs; they go to shaheed miner. All people go to the shaheed minar with flowers to show respect to the language martyrs. So the day and language martyrs will be remembered forever in the history of our Bengali nation.

Independence Day
Powered by Froala Editor
During the Partition of India on August 14, 1947, Pakistan gained independence from Britain and became separated from India. After this, the area now known as Bangladesh was referred to as East Bengal but later called East Pakistan.
However, in 1970, the country was led by President Yahya Khan, from the minority West Pakistan region. After the general elections, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who was from East Pakistan (Bangladesh), won the elections. The government refused to hand over power to Rahman.
This led to a demand for independence by the people of East Pakistan. The East Pakistan government began arresting army personnel who were from East Pakistan, leading to forced disappearances. On the night of March 25, 1971, the Pakistan Army declared “Operation Searchlight,” a military operation that was essentially Bengali genocide, leading to approximately 3,000,000 Bengalis being killed indiscriminately.
Finally, on the morning of March 26, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared the independence of East Pakistan from West Pakistan. Unfortunately, the story didn’t end there. For nine months following that day, a liberation war raged between both regions, leading to many people dying. The war, which became known as the “Bangladesh War of Independence,” finally came to an end on December 16, 1971. Pakistan finally surrendered.
In Bangladesh, independence celebrations are characterized by parades, speeches, fairs, and ceremonial events designed to commemorate the country’s liberation. On the morning of the day, a thirty-one gun salute is shot.
